When Allison was the Maid of Honor at her sister Mallory's wedding in May 2017, she took a leap of faith during her speech and asked all the guests to take down her number and pass it around to any single guys they might know. It was a gutsy move and maybe it was the champagne talking, but she was feeling lucky with all the love in the air and figured if anything it would get her a few laughs.. Well, it's safe to say that her little joke did more than just get people to chuckle because here we are!

Not long after Mallory's wedding, Allison was having drinks with a family friend who wanted to take her up on what she had said about handing out her number. Mind you (a typical "Allison" thing to say), this particular friend happened to have a very successful matchmaking track record - 3 couples to be exact - so Allison figured WHY NOT?! Again, maybe it was the alcohol talking, but what did she have to lose? 

Days later, a text from Jake Dann-Soury showed up and he got straight to the point. The two made a plan to meet at the NoMad Hotel bar which is what kids do in Manhattan because if they decide they don't like each other then the first date doesn't have to go beyond one awkward drink. Well, one drink turned into two which turned into some late night cookies n cream ice cream at Baskin-Robbins - the ultimate key to Allison's heart. 

The rest is history. After over 4 years of dating, moving in together in New York City and getting their dog, Honey, Jake proposed to Allison in August 2021 surrounded by friends and family.
